TPS Position Update – June 25, 2013

June 25, 2013

. . . . Syntroleum (NASDAQ: SYNM) – Hold

SYNM just keeps climbing.  As of this writing, the stock’s up 60%.  And, the shares have gained as much as 77% for us in June.

Adding to the company’s recent good news is the announcement of a second lawsuit against NESTE Oil.  The Singapore oil company is allegedly infringing on one of SYNM’s patents.

SYNM shares popped 7% higher on news of the lawsuit, so clearly investors believe it’s a good thing.  And, with all the positive info coming out on this company, this could end up being a very lucrative position for us.

Hang on to your shares.

. . . . UR-Energy (AMEX: URG) – Hold

It’s been an outstanding month for URG.  The shares are up another 6% as of this writing, after climbing 30% from this time last month.  Our position is now over a 50% winner.

Last time I updated URG, the company was expecting to get a bridge loan of $5 million.  It turns out, they closed on a $20 million loan facility.  Hey, more the better, right?

What’s more, the company is being added to the Russell 3000 Index on June 28th.  That means more analyst coverage, and most importantly, more buying by index funds and ETFs.

We really like the direction URG is headed.  Hold your shares for bigger gains ahead.

. . . . Astrotech (NASDAQ: ASTC) – Sell

ASTC, our one aerospace holding in the portfolio, has been something of a disappointment. It’s not as if the company has done anything particularly wrong.  Really, it’s that the company has done basically nothing at all.

The shares are still within $0.05 of where we bought them – over six months ago.  And, very little news has come out during the entire holding period.

After six months of light news, we think it’s time to move on.  There are better uses for our capital at this time.

Go ahead and sell your shares of ASTC.
